A Keelung native, Cheng I-Han graduated from Taipei National University of the Arts’ School of Dance and received her master’s degree from TNUA’s Graduate Institute of Dance. She joined Hung Dance in 2017, where she is currently a full-time dancer and rehearsal director. Cheng participated in LAI Hung-Chung’s works “Birdy” and “Watcher,” which won numerous international choreography awards. She performed in the company’s annual productions “Boundless,” “Out of Elegant,” and “See You,” and was the principal dancer in tours of Portugal, Spain, Italy, Greece, Estonia, United States, Cote d’Ivoire, Singapore, South Korea, and Hong Kong. In 2019, Cheng played a dancer in her self-choreography— the short work “Trapped”, which was a participant in the first edition of the Stray Bird Platform and also invited to be part of the New Dance for Asia International Festival in South Korea. In 2020, Cheng began developing “Trapped” into the full-length solo work “No. Me,” which was toured and performed at National Theater’s Experimental Theater, National Taichung Theater’s Black Box, and Kaohsiung Experimental Theater.
