A Kaohsiung native, Huang Yu-Hsuan began receiving professional dance training as a student at Tsoying Senior High School's Dance Division. After graduating, he enrolled at National Taiwan University of Arts' College of Performing Arts Department of Dance and is also a photography enthusiast. He started collaborating with choreographer LAI Hung-chung in 2014 and joined Hung Dance as a dancer in 2017. He participated in Lai Hung-Chung's works Watcher, which won a gold medal at the Ministry of Culture's Taiwan Creative Dance Competition; Boundless, which was previewed in Taiwan as part of Taiwan Season at the Festival d'Avignon OFF and Edinburgh Festival Fringe; and Birdy, which was performed at Greece's Akropoditi Dancefest.d.
